Modrus Mediator technical details

Modrus Mediator is a SIP proxy, communicating over both UDP and TCP protocols, which can seamlessly integrate Microsoft Exchange servers with 3Com VCX IP Telephony Servers. Mediator also interfaces with Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange 2007 to provide enhanced messaging functions.

Modrus Mediator sits at the centre of the traffic flow, controlling SIP sessions between 3Com VCX and Microsoft Exchange. MWI and message counts are handled by a combination of LDAP and Web services traffic. SIP messages are inspected / translated on the fly, with the UDP / TCP conversions remaining transparent to both VCX and Exchange.
