What are the minimum requirements to run this solution?
3Com VCX Enterprise V7.1.16c or later OR 3Com VCX Connect V8.04e or later
Microsoft Exchange 2007 SP1 Standard or Enterprise Edition with Unified Messaging role
Microsoft Exchange Enterprise CALs for unified messaging enabled mailboxes
Modrus Mediator requires Windows 2003 Server (not running Exchange roles) with a minimum of 512MB RAM

I don't use 3Com networking equipment - can the solution still work for me?
Yes, the only 3Com related requirement is the use of VCX Connect or Enterprise. 3Com networking equipment would provide other significant benefits not related to the use of unified messaging.

How much does the solution cost?
The incremental costs for a site already running Exchange 2007 SP1 and 3Com VCX, based on recommended resale pricing are:

• Microsoft Exchange Enterprise CAL (Client Access License) = £20 per seat
• Modrus Mediator License = £15 per seat
• Mediator Server with Windows 2003 Sever = £1000
• Total for 100 users = £4500 plus install / configuration

What is Modrus' relationship with 3Com and Microsoft?

I only need Unified Messaging for a small percentage of my users, is this still a solution for my organisation?
Yes. Unified Messaging can be enabled on a per mailbox basis or rolled out to your entire organisation.

I do not want to have to maintain Exchange myself. Can I still benefit from Unified Messaging?
Yes. Modrus provide a hosted Exchange solution via its data centres in London and North America. You can deploy Exchange Unified Messaging quickly and easily without the need for any additional internal skill sets.
